Originally from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, Cristina came to North Carolina in 2001 after graduating from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

Like many, Cristina’s first experience with yoga (2001) was not a rewarding one.   In 2003 , ushered by her good friend, Georgette DeJesus, she gave asana practice a second chance at a YMCA in Cary, NC.  Much to her surprise, she was hooked!

Only three months later, she found herself yearning for a truer experience and sought out a local yoga studio.  She new she had found a home as soon as she stepped into the warmth of Namaste Yoga Center in Cary, NC.  It was at Namaste, under the tutelage of instructors Miche Federico and Carrington Jackson, where Cristina truly felt her journey in yoga  began.

Cristina has been practicing Yoga for over 7 years and is eternally grateful for the life transformation she has undergone through her yoga practice. It was through her practice that she realized her passion in life was not to work for Corporate America, but to follow her heart's calling of inspiring personal growth in others through spreading the light of Yoga.

A Certified Yoga Instructor through the Asheville Yoga Center’s 230hr Vinyasa program with Stephanie Keach and another 200 hrs through the Triangle Anusara Teacher Training Institute with Lila Brown and Paul & Sommer Sobin, Cristina is devoted to broadening her understanding and practice of Yoga.  She has studied with world renown masters John Friend, Sean Corn, and Sarah Powers.

Cristina inspires her students to awaken their innate freedom and radiance by breaking through limitations and discovering new possibilities through their yoga practice.  Off the mat, Cristina enjoys life with her newest bundle of love, James Ventura, and  her husband David.
